Monarchs are everyone's favorite butterflies! They are the most requested butterfly for release as well as one of the friendliest! In recent years, they have become one of the most widely distributed butterflies in the world.

The average wingspan of the Monarch is about 4 1/2 inches while others, such as the Painted Lady, is only about 2 inches. Their size makes for a most dramatic display during release. Their wings display a contrast of black, white, and orange making then strikingly colorful.

Monarchs are lively, strong butterflies. These "flying jewels" love to be invited to special occasions for fun and frolic. After being released, these friendly guests will seek out nearby nectar sources and engage in graceful flight allowing everyone to interact!
